Complex’s groundbreaking festival ComplexCon is not only a window into the future of retail, but also a window into the future of consumers and youth culture at large.

With Complex’s Strategy & Business Intelligence teams, I led research surrounding ComplexCon that explored how and why consumer mindsets and behaviors are evolving, including:

  • Becoming more resourceful and hacking retail to buy products and build their own brands.

  • Using video games not only for leisure, but as an essential tool for advanced education and skill-building.

  • Reinventing nostalgic references to make them entirely new and more relatable to their generation.

  • Fusing pop culture and social issues to get their voices heard and communities supported.
